Awards of Recognition

Awards of recognition are administered by our Hospital Liaison Committee, a part of Healing Services.

Annual nursing awards are given for Best Nursing Team and Magnet Component Awards. Gift baskets are donated for Volunteer's Week, and Employee Appreciation week. The Ruth Award is given to a deserving high school volunteer and the Irene Fortunato Award is given to college level volunteers in specific departments of MMC.

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded each year by our Scholarship Committee to outstanding Medical Center employees to further their education in the healthcare field.

Magnet Component Awards

Magnet Component Awards, based on the Magnet Recognition components of Transformational Leadership, Structural Empowerment, Exemplary Professional Practice and New Knowledge, Innovation and Improvements, are given to encourage the development of leading edge nursing programs and practices.
