The Chatham Twig funded a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Parental Massage Program in 2018. Tracey Koplik, one of the Clinical Specialists, is incredibly pleased with the impact the Twig's donation has made for these families. Because of their funding, NICU staff members are submitting abstracts to both local and national conferences regarding the effectiveness of massage therapy to reduce stress and anxiety in NICU parents and to improve patient satisfaction. Tracy said, “We are so very grateful to have received this generous donation to benefit our NICU families and want to extend our sincere gratitude to the Chatham Twig.” In addition, she forwarded two recent patient testimonials: “This has helped me in so many areas. The therapist is kind, understanding, and encouraging. It gives me something to look forward to and encourages me to step away for a few moments to take care of myself.” “Massage is a great time to concentrate on ourselves for a short period of time. It helps us relax and come back to our babies more refreshed. It is an excellent idea for NICU.” The Chatham Twig thanks all who support their efforts! You truly make a difference!
